Introduction Ello folks, Dread here describing a few things for yall. Now I'll bare yall from massive detail but I figure I'd say what the differences between skills and powers. I am sure most of you can figure this out from just the names themselves, but in the case no, well then –
Skills Skills, in general, are what you consider something anyone could do regardless of race. There are two kinds of skills:- Physical Skill: Something like a punch or a sword stroke.
- Energy Skill: All your hadoukens and kamehamehas go here.
That being said, Energy Skills draw on your race's energy system - Chi, Mana or Yoki. While this means another race can't learn the exact technique, they can still have an equivalent, so long as it does not use any specific racial traits. (Chi's balance and Yoki's corruption trait)
Some of you out there like to have weapons. Yeah, guns and swords are cool and all. If you want to make a weapon technique, you will use the skill system.
Powers Now, a power is something more character or racial specific. The difference between a power and a magic spell is that your power is something personal, which you may not pass on so easily unless the source of that power is from an item (which you can just hand over if you have to) or from your bloodline (just procreate to pass on). You can pull something from your soul and it could range from fire powers to controlling reality. Hell, you can have abilities tied to your bloodline, such as your body being made of rubber or something of the sort. This is really just your personal stuff. For information on Magic, refer to the Magic System.
